The ICE (InterCity Express) is a high-speed train service operated by Deutsche Bahn, connecting major cities in Germany and extending to neighboring countries. 

It is the premier long-distance train service in Germany, offering fast and comfortable travel with various types of trains, including ICE1, ICE2, ICE3, ICE4, and ICE3neo. The ICE network covers over 180 stations in Germany and five neighboring countries: Austria, Switzerland, France, Belgium, and the Netherlands.

ICE fares are fixed for station-to-station connections, on the grounds that the trains have a higher level of comfort. Travelling at speeds up to 300 km/h (190 mph) within Germany and 320 km/h (200 mph) when in France, they are aimed at business travellers and long-distance commuters and marketed by Deutsche Bahn as an alternative to flights.
