MMS testing at 7 layers
MMS application enabler testing is based on OMA test specifications. The
test process contains the usage of a dedicated bearer such as GPRS or W-CDMA.
The reason for this being that the complete terminal, including all layers,
needs to be tested, not just the SW applications.
Initial requirements have been specified by cellular
operators and terminal manufacturers with the goal to ensure
interoperability between MMS applications from terminal to terminal and
across different networks around the world.
The MMS application enabler is one of the many enablers
that are currently under development by OMA and other groups. It is
foreseeable that further application enablers for GCF and PTCRB are going to
be developed. New work plans are currently under consideration for 2005.
At 7 layers we will keep track of these new test
requirements in order to cover your latest testing needs!
